Who is SEED?
Who is SEED?
We are parents, just like you.
The Special Education Enrichment Development Foundation (SEED) was developed by a small group of parents in 2006, after recognizing the need for a foundation to augment special educational services for children and families in Lafayette, California.
The programs we fund include recess facilitation, after school social skills play groups, educational seminars, support groups, parent and family social events, and teacher training.
From IEP Workshops to understanding Dyslexia, and much more. Check out our archive of presentations, and upcoming education opportunities.
Supported by generous donations, SEED provides funding for classroom enrichment and special training for educators, as well as needs based scholarships to families.
Connecting parents, caregivers, and families is at the heart of SEED's mission. Monthly breakfasts, wine & cheese nights, and birthday playdates are just a few examples of the fun!

Social Emotional Learning
Thanks to SEED, we have received Kimochis training and Kimochis Toolkits, which I have used daily in person and in distance learning with my students. I have watched my students, some as young as age three, quickly gain an emotional vocabulary, an ability to identify the feelings in their body and to learn and use strategies to communicate effectively and manage big feelings.
The consistency of the Kimochis curriculum throughout the school district will support students’ social-emotional development from grade to grade. I am so thankful to SEED and Kimochis for making such a lifelong positive impact on our students!
